Our top 3 favourite destinations for the romantic Sapphic couple!

New HampshireNew Hampshire - USA
You don’t need to wait until the fall to see beautiful New England. The New Hampshire White Mountains are simply spectacular at any time of year with its weird and wonderful collection of covered bridges, gorgeous snow covered mountains, and viewed from the Highlands Inn in Bethlehem (no less!); this will be a romantic getaway that will be difficult to beat. The Highlands Inn has been labelled by Planet Out as one of the most romantic lesbian destinations on the planet – and our experience so far is that Planet Out are not often wrong. Check out this beautiful women’s place by clicking here.

Reykjavik - Iceland
Iceland may sound a little cold for a romantic getaway but it boasts beautiful scenery and a liberal culture that will warm the cockles of many a ReykjavikSapphic heart. It’s only a 2-hour flight time from the UK and the difference in scenery couldn’t be more profound with its huge volcanoes, hotsprings, geysers and the largest glacier in Europe. Hold hands with your loved one in the fantastic Blue Lagoon; a stunning natural spa destination only an hour or so from Reykjavik, said to be the least polluted capital city in the world. Stay somewhere like 101 Hotel, a trendy, contemporary design hotel, in the heart of Reykjavik or if the great outdoors is more your style try one of the many Foss Hotels dotted around the various regions that make up the glorious outdoor paradise that is Iceland.

Amsterdam - The Netherlands
A little bit closer to home, why not hop over to Amsterdam, one of the most colourful cities in the world and a fantastic destination for the Sapphic couple. If art is your thing Amsterdam is packed with cultural gems – it hosts the largest collection of work by Van Gogh in the world; it is home to Rembrandt’s home, now the Rembrandt Museum; and the Rijksmuseum Amsterdamthat shows the world-famous Rembrandt collection. But if art is not the thing that does it for you Amsterdam has so much more to offer from Anne Frank’s house, canal tours and the (shh!!!!!) Sexmuseum through to diamonds, the fascinating future home and office exhibition and, of course the Heineken experience - not to mention a wealth of cafes, restaurants and bars - we could go on and on. Stay at the gorgeous ITC Hotel an authentic canal house in the heart of old Amsterdam, or the 4* Lloyd Hotel in the Eastern Harbour area, a converted listed monument that showcases the best of Dutch architecture and design.

Don't forget that if you're looking for something even closer to home, check out our Sapphy Star pages and classifeds!  Let us know your favourite holiday destinations - write us a review!
