- Panty liners can make a good first aid dressing! They’re sterile on one side and waterproof on the other. Very practical but if you
 are vain perhaps this one isn’t for you!
- Should you ever find yourself needing to light a fire in the middle of a downpour, try this one out. Soak a tampon (yes, you read right, a tampon) in meths and pop it in a water-tight jar or tub. When you need it use it as a home-made firelighter! This will keep you and your sweetheart warm!
- ... And for the non-sanitary advice, wear two pairs of socks when you go walking. Thin inner socks and thicker outer socks will reduce the risk of getting blisters.
