It may have been yesterday, last week, twenty years ago, but do you remember when it actually dawned on you that you fancied women? It may have been a slow realisation, a bolt from the blue, an attraction to a specific person – it can happen in so many ways, but chances are that regardless of how the realisation hit you, at some point in your life you had a worry – even a vague worry – about what it would be like sleeping with another woman.
To help alleviate that we've teamed up with Chris and Sally from Exclusively Eve - our resident sexperts.
So, Chris and Sally, how does a woman make love with another woman?
“Two women in bed can do so many things. They can cuddle, kiss, fondle and play with sex toys. They may engage in tribadism also known as frottage. They can talk dirty or act out fantasies, have oral or anal sex, or they can simply sleep.
The following are some general hints and tips about the things women tend to ask questions about, and gentle reminders about how to enjoy each other in bed.
Tribadism: involves rubbing your genitals against another person's genitals or other body part. Many lesbians enjoy tribadism because they can involve their whole bodies. Also called frottage, tribadism can involve straddling a partner's leg, pubic bone or any other body part. Many women can orgasm just from this stimulation.
Toys: One of the most commonly used toys in a lesbian relationship is the dildo. Whilst some see it merely as a penis substitute for vaginal penetration others use dildos for anal pleasure as well. Dildos come in many sizes, colours and materials. Many lesbians have discovered the pleasures of strap-on sex. Strap-ons are dildos designed to be worn in, or form part of a harness, so that you can penetrate your partner and keep your hands free.
Oral Sex: Although there are many ways to make love to a woman, oral sex can be extremely intimate and the most satisfying for many women. Spend some time and get your lover excited before making the plunge. When having oral sex with your lover, it's not all about her clitoris. Talk to her, tell her how beautiful she looks and use gentle strokes.
Anal Sex: Many people ask the question ‘Is anal sex dangerous?’ Simply put the answer is ‘no’……. but you do need to take some precautions as the rectum has no natural lubricants. Make sure you use plenty of lube, and if it hurts, stop. Also, unlike the vagina, there's no "end" to your rectum and things really can get lost up there, so be careful.
Whether you are in a long-term relationship, or are just looking for new ways to woo the woman in your life, these tips below will help you keep love and passion alive with your partner.
As a note of caution lesbians can transmit infections to each other during sex. In all of your penetrative sexual activities please be sure to use latex barriers like condoms and dams, and use plenty of lube.”
